Day One The journey from Lydbrook to the Biblins has to be the most picturesque section of the River Wye. Meet the instructor who will brief you on Kayak control and emergency procedures. You will be taught flat water skills and the basics of moving water techniques all combined with a lot of fun and games! Maybe work towards your Kayak 'star awards' - a National award system by the British Canoe Union. The scenary is varied from open farm land to steep limestone cliffs and then Symonds Yat Grade 1 introductory rapids, the last section of wooded calley returns us to the Biblins Log Cabin. Day Two Continue our journey down the Wye Valley to Redbrook and the Boat Inn or possibly onto the tidal reaches of the Wye. FOr day 2 we are changing to Open Canoes. These North American craft are ideal for day tripping and canoe camping. Learn new skills that enable you to paddle solo as well as in a team. A few confidence taks will be set to spice up the day!! Experienced paddlers are welcome to attend. Your instructor has been on expeditions around the world on high volume and technical rivers so all levels of ability are welcome. |
